Pet Peace of Mind

Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Litchfield County has a new program aimed at helping hospice patients care for their pets. Pet Peace of Mind recognizes and actively supports the unique bond between hospice patients and their pets.  Pet Peace of Mind allows patients to complete their end-of-life journey without worrying about their pet’s current or future needs. The initiative provides volunteer pet care services for patients who cannot care for their pets while in hospice. Services include assistance with pet food, financial aid with routine veterinary care, transportation to veterinary appointments, dog walking, and more.

For more information about the Pet Peace of Mind program or to become a volunteer, please call Eileen Rydel at (860) 379-8561.
