Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Litchfield County’s Hospice Program provides physical care, emotional support, expert pain and symptom management, spiritual support and the companionship of specially trained volunteers for patients and their families. We also provide bereavement support for families who have lost a loved one.

In hospice care, the patient’s personal physician continues to direct the person’s care, but the hospice physician is also available to help at any time the doctor is away or not available. Our hospice care team works with the patient and family to make each day the best it can be.

Our hospice care is available wherever you are – in your own home, in an assisted living community, long-term care facility or hospital.

Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurance plans. Financial assistance is available through contributions from our community and other generous donors.
